WHAT IS A JUDGES TRAINING?

The purpose of a judges training is to bring judges and prospective judges up-to-date in 4-H skill evaluation and to standardize scoring. Instructors cover all areas of their topics (clothing, equipment, working with a clerk, score sheets, etc.) The instructors come from throughout the Northwest, and all have expertise in their teaching area.

The training is also beneficial to 4-H Horse Leaders and Show Superintendents, as they learn much about how their members are evaluated and receive the most current information on changes in project materials and rules. Parents and senior 4-H members also find this training helpful.

Participants from states other than Oregon, Washington and Idaho are welcomed. Different perspectives make the program dynamic and help build a cohesiveness between the participants and leadership around the northwest. Please
consider attending the next trainings!

REGISTRATION COSTS

Fees vary according to the length of the training.

Registration fees usually include refreshments at all breaks, continental breakfasts, box lunches, dinner, instructor materials and new PNW and OR/WA horse project materials. All other meals and overnight accommodations are your responsibility.

HORSE JUDGES EXAMINATION

As in prior years, we will construct and provide a Judge's Examination for those participants who wish to be put on or stay on the 4-H Horse Judges Lists. Registered participants will receive tests at the end of the clinic.

Participants who attend the training and receive at least 90% on the test will qualify for the appropriate PNW Horse Judges lists.

A great deal of effort is put into providing outstanding resources, educational experiences, and materials for participants of all skill levels. Contact us if you have a question or concern. We look forward to see you at the next training!!
