When Traveling without Minors

If you are traveling to a conference, on a sabbatical leave, or other official business outside of the United States, please review the information on the attached checklist.

In addition, it is extremely important that you complete the following three steps:

  1. Discuss your plans with your immediate supervisor and your State Program Leader well in advance of the travel date(s)
  2. Be sure to visit the following website Out-of-State Travel Authorization (online request form). Policy: OSU Extension Service follows the policy that out-of-state travel authorization must be obtained from the immediate supervisor prior to the commencement of travel. OSU Extension Service provides an out-of-state travel authorization form to assist with obtaining this travel authorization. Additional information on the OSU Travel Policy can be found in the Fiscal Operations Manual 411: Travel.
  3. If you are traveling internationally on behalf of Oregon State University, your trip must be registered with OSU's International Travel Registry prior to your departure. This is a requirement regardless of the source of funding for the trip. Registration is easy to complete and can be done by accessing the http://international.oregonstate.edu/international-travel website. The Division of International Programs has launched the new OSU International Travel Registry to replace the international travel form previously overseen by Risk Management.
