4-H Center
(http://www.oregon4hcenter.org/) in Salem, just an hour south of Portland.  We will be offering two optional pre-conferences workshops, three pre-conference tours, two key note speakers, 40+ seminar sessions and a day of tours to museums and outdoor sites that will give you a look at the beauty Oregon has to offer!

Pre-Conferences 

 One Perfect Day of TeamWork & TeamPlay with Dr. Jim Cain- $65.00 

 Author, teambuilding guru and 10 year 4-Her, Dr. Jim Cain, will share his favorite, newest & best team & community building activities from around the world.  Enjoy an in-depth experience that will help you incorporate valuable activities into your next training or teaching program.  This workshop can be taken alone or as part of the full conference program.  Building Successful Learning Communities with Scott VanderWey-$40.00                     

Scott VanderWey, Director of Washington State University’s (WSU) Adventure Education program, will present WSU Extension’s model for incorporating experiential methodologies into youth learning environments.   Building Successful Learning Communities is targeted at adults who would like to transform the youth groups they are working with to high achieving learning communities. This program works across curriculum and grade levels, establishing a scaffolding to support educators, resulting in increased youth performance.  This workshop can be taken alone or as part of the full conference program.

 

Playnote and Keynote Speakers

March 16 Playnote: Dr. Jim Cain, “Building Unity, Community and Connection.” Jim will help us start our 4-H NCI in style, building unity, community and connection with our entire group.  From 'painless' icebreakers to group and community building activities that really help a group come together.  This multi-sensory experience will help you 'connect' with everyone at our conference.

 

March 17 Keynote: Matt Hyde, REI’s Executive VP of Marketing and Merchandising – “Getting More People Outdoors.”  How do we reach out to diverse populations and get more people into the out-of-doors we all love to enjoy its beauty and benefits?
