Through an annual Congressional appropriation for the National Children, Youth and Families at Risk (CYFAR) Initiative, CSREES allocates funding to Land Grant University Extension Services for community-based programs for at-risk children and their families. The CYFAR web site provides links to resources developed by its funded sites.

CYFERNet provides practical, research-based information on children, youth and families. Universities in all fifty states provide the up-to-date resources and information for this Internet-based service. These universities are collaborating partners in the Cooperative Extension Service Children, Youth, and Family Network project. CYFERNet was created in 1992 by professionals working for the Cooperative Extension System (USDA), National Agricultural Library (USDA), and the Children, Youth and Family Consortium (University of Minnesota). A site designed by 4-H'ers for 4-H'ers, the National 4-H Web is an ideal place for net surfing 4-H'ers to go to learn how to connect with other 4-H'ers around the country. Includes information about the 4-H program in general and upcoming 4-H events, and has a chatroom for meeting other 4-H'ers.
