Program Goals To help Latino youth learn more about becoming leaders and to help them learn about contemporary issues within the Latino community. To encourage Latino youth to pursue educational opportunities beyond high school.
Description A day of activities including small-group seminars, a scholarship competition, and a nationally recognized Latino keynote speaker or cultural performing group. All activities are centered around the theme of education and leadership. Students are encouraged to interact with other Latino youth from their area.

Program Goals To encourage youth to stay in school, graduate and pursue continued education. A secondary goal is to increase Latino youth’s awareness of the opportunities available to them in their communities and how they can use their skills to make positive contributions to those communities.
Description A one-day conference offering a variety of workshops. A student advisory group plays a major role in conference planning.

Target Audience Latino or migrant youth entering into the 11th and 12th grades. Participation is limited.

Location Willamette University, Salem, OR
Program Goals To develop leadership skills, self-esteem, interactive skills like problem solving and conflict resolution, long term goals and objectives, character and integrity (values clarification), and physical fitness and wellness. To improve academic skills, and to offer opportunities to participate in cultural activities.
Description An intensive two-week program designed to give migrant and Latino youth skills to be productive members of society.

Target Audience Latino youth ages 15-19
Frequency One Saturday per month, October to May
Location Community colleges and universities across Oregon
Program Goals To provide a model for Latino leadership.
Description Each site provides a different program, but the same goal prevails. There is some local involvement with other organizations like the Boy Scouts, who provide the Challenge Course in Portland. Issues addressed include culture, who you are as a cultural person, careers and college, responsibility, and leadership.
