The state, county and local 4-H program is a dynamic organization that reaches out to youth between kindergarten and 12th grade with opportunities for personal growth and increasing social and technical skills. Volunteers say the most important benefits they receive from working with the 4-H Youth Development Program are chances to:

  • 4-H volunteer leaders learn new skills.Help children grow in personal self-worth
  • Gain a better understanding of their community
  • Interact with others and create family togetherness.

4-H volunteers enjoy the new friends they make and the realization that they make a significant impact in the development of young people. Share with the youth in your community and help them become more motivated and capable youth.

Contact your county Extension office for complete details on the types of volunteer roles available in the 4-H Youth Development Program.

You too can make a difference in the life of a child by discovering the world together...be a 4-H volunteer.

A hundred years from now
it will not matter
what my bank account was,
the sort of house I lived in,
or the kind of car I drove...
but the world may be different
because I was important
in the life of a child.
