Oregon 4-H Leaders Association

The purposes of the Oregon 4-H Leaders Association and its Executive Council are to:

  • Promote and support the 4-H Youth Development Program
  • Sponsor leader forums as appropriate and needed
  • Serve as members of the 4-H Advisory Council
  • Serve as advocate and spokespersons for the volunteer and paid staff of the Oregon State University Extension Service, 4-H Youth Development Program
  • Provide a representative to the Oregon 4-H Foundation so the volunteer leader perspective is included.
  • Provide a representative to the State Fair 4-H Board of Trustees.
  • Serve in an advisory capacity to the faculty of the Department of 4-H Youth Development Education.
  • Serve as a "sounding board" for statewide programming ideas, and make recommendations as appropriate.

The duties of the Executive Council shall be to transact all necessary business of the Association. A written report of all actions of the Council shall be provided to all county 4-H leader groups.

Individual district representatives shall serve as a liaison between their district and the Executive Council. Representatives will seek to relay ideas to the Executive Council received from the individual leaders and to relay recommendations or general information from the Executive Council to the respective leader groups.

The tenure of office of Executive Council members shall be three years for adult members and one year for teen members.
