4-H Shooting Sports State Contest
Like the Mail-In Tournaments, the Annual Oregon 4-H Shooting Sports State Contests offer youth the opportunity to compete in an environment where they can safely interact with peers; learn to follow rules and rise to expectations; support and encourage other club members; engage in something that sparks their interest; develop and value morals and ethics; set and achieve goals; build life skills; and involve the entire family.
The State Contest consists of four divisions: Firearms and Archery, Communications, Hunting Skills, and Western Heritage Project. The Contest consists of courses of fire that test marksmanship skills as well as the opportunity for youth to be recognized for sportsmanship through an onsite nomination process.
Youth, ages 9 – 19, qualify for the Firearms and Archery as well as Hunting Skills divisions through the Oregon 4-H Shooting Sports Mail-in Tournament. For the 2017 State Contest, youth wishing to participate in the Communications and Western Heritage divisions are not required to pre-qualify.
The Firearms and Archery division is divided into two tracks: Entry Level (EL) Track and the National Championship (NC) Track. Intermediate and Senior youth competing in the National Championship Track may qualify to attend the next year’s National Championships.
For more information about the next State Contest - June 26-28, 2017 - please refer to the

Schedules, registration forms and other information will be posted as it is available.
